Austin J. Swisher, originally of Jamestown, ND was previously a Business Banker with Starion Financial, a $680 million financial center headquartered in Bismarck, ND. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree cum laude, majoring in History/Political Science, Business Administration with concentrations in Economics and General Management, and earning a Minor is Asian Studies from Jamestown College in Jamestown, ND. He received the R.E. Meidinger Business Administration Scholarship, and was appointed to the rank of College Fellow in History/Political Science, as well as selected for the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Mr. Swisher served nine years in the North Dakota National Guard 141st Engineer Combat Battalion out of Jamestown, ND, earning the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Swisher was deployed for a one-year tour of duty at Forward Operating Base Speicher, near Tikrit, Iraq in 2004. Mr. Swisher earned the Army Commendation Medal while searching for roadside bombs as a “Trailblazer.” The United States Army bestowed the Valorous Unit Award upon Mr. Swisher’s unit during his deployment to Iraq.
Mr. Swisher received his Juris Doctor (JD) cum laude from the University of North Dakota School of Law in Grand Forks, ND. Mr. Swisher was selected to compete in the Albert R. Mugel National Moot Court Competition in Buffalo, New York in 2008. Mr. Swisher was one of eight students selected to The Order of Barristers, a national honorary organization whose purpose is the encouragement of oral advocacy and brief writing skills through effective law school oral advocacy programs.
Mr. Swisher is married to Carrie J. Swisher, and they have two children.
